Northumberland

Nature is at the heart of everything we do. When we designed and built the Roundhouses, we wanted to create a space that allowed guests to enjoy the beauty of this landscape while leaving as little impact as possible. From the materials we chose to the way we run the site each day, every decision has been made with the planet in mind. We believe that comfort and sustainability go hand in hand and we’re proud to play our part in protecting this incredible place we’re lucky to call home.

Here are just some of the ways we’re doing our best to protect the planet while ensuring you have a beautiful and comfortable stay:

  • LED, low-energy lighting
  • Water-efficient taps and dual-flush toilets
  • Smart heating sensors to avoid unnecessary energy use
  • Sustainable materials used in the build
  • One shared A+ rated boiler for all three Roundhouses — the most energy-efficient model in the UK
  • High-grade insulation to keep heat in and energy use low
  • We support local businesses, tradespeople and suppliers wherever possible
  • We regularly donate to our local sports clubs and charities
  • Fully separated recycling bins for guests
  • No wood-burning stoves (to reduce air pollution and carbon output)
  • A wildflower meadow planted to support bees, insects and local wildlife
